Abrasive Wheels

  • Assessment: Candidates are assessed through a practical assessment and a short written theory test.
  • Valid for: Three years. Candidates will need to retake the full course to remain qualified.

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is suitable for anyone who uses abrasive wheels or other grinding and cutting tools as part of their role. This includes the operatives who use the equipment and managers and supervisors of the operatives.

  • Types and Functions of Abrasive Wheels
  • The selection, testing, mounting and storage of Abrasive Wheels
  • Inspection & methods of testing for damage
  • The care, maintenance, transport and handling of Abrasive Wheels

What are the learning outcomes for this course?

After finishing the course, candidates will have legal knowledge for safe abrasive wheel usage, hazard identification and prevention, and selection, use, and inspection of PPE and safety equipment.

How is this course assessed?

Candidates are assessed through a practical assessment and a short written theory test.
