What does Paediatric First Aid include?

Paediatric First Aid training includes the following subject areas

  • Child and baby resuscitation (CPR)
  • Unresponsive baby
  • Unresponsive child
  • Stings and bites
  • Bone, muscle and joint injuries
  • Head, neck and back injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Extremes of heat and cold
  • Fainting
  • Meningitis
  • Poisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned
  • Asthma
  • Low blood sugar
  • Ears, eyes and nose injuries
  • Sepsis
  • Choking baby
  • Choking child
  • Allergic reaction
  • Minor and severe bleeding
  • Seizures
  • Shock

What are the learning outcomes for this course?

Upon completing the course, candidates will acquire the expertise and understanding to effectively manage a wide range of first aid situations specifically related to children.

The course is assessed through continual observation, as well as practical and written demonstrations.

How long does it take to complete the Paediatric First Aid course?

This course is 12 hours of learning, which is generally delivered as two days of training.

  • Stallard Kane Training Room, Gainsborough

    This course is available in our training room in Gainsborough and is suitable for businesses that do not have training facilities.
