    The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. (IOSH) is a globally recognised chartered body that promotes the highest standards for workplace health and safety.

    IOSH Managing Safely is a training course that gives individuals in positions of responsibility at their workplace an overview of identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace risks.

    • Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
    • Assessment: A 45 minute exam and practical assessment
    • Next Course: Monday 18th - Wednesday 20th November
    • Valid for: This course is valid for life, though IOSH recommend regular refresher training. We can provide refresher training. Please contact training@skaltd.co.uk

    What does IOSH Managing Safely include?

    IOSH Managing Safely includes seven units:

    • Unit 1: Introducing Managing Safely
    • Unit 2: Assessing Risks
    • Unit 3: Controlling Risks
    • Unit 4: Understanding Responsibilities
    • Unit 5: Understanding Hazards
    • Unit 6: Investigating Incidents
    • Unit 7: Measuring Performance

    What are the learning outcomes for this course?

    Following the completion of the IOSH Managing Safely course, the participant will;

    • Understand the importance of managing health and safety in the workplace
    • Define the key terms relating to health and safety
    • Understand how to assess, reduce, identify, and control risks in the workplace
    • Measure health and safety within your own workplace
    • Apply best practice principles to your organisation's health and safety systems

    How is this course assessed?

    To complete the course, the participant must pass a 45-minute exam alongside a practical assessment that will demonstrate the application of knowledge gained throughout the course via completing a Risk Assessment in the workplace. Once passed, they will be issued an IOSH Certification.

    Open courses are available on specific dates throughout the year. This course is ideal if you have one or two members of staff who require a specific course.

      This course is available via Zoom for those who cannot make it to a physical classroom but still benefit from joint learning and is delivered by a trusted training partner.

      This course is available via Zoom for those who cannot make it to a physical classroom but still benefit from joint learning.

    e-learning

    If you prefer to self-study, we provide an e-learning course requiring a minimum of 24 hours of self-study.

    Closed Courses

    A closed course is available for your team only. If you have multiple team members who require training, this is logistically easier and cost-effective for upskilling your team.

    • On Site

      This course is delivered by a trainer on-site. If you don’t have a room suitable on your site for training, you may hire a local venue where we can deliver this training to your team members.

    • Stallard Kane Training Room, Gainsborough

      This course is available in our training room in Gainsborough and is suitable for businesses that do not have training facilities.

    • Virtual Course

      This course can be delivered exclusively to your team virtually via zoom.
