Who is this course suitable for?

This course suits any workers who operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) within their role.

Are there any entry requirements?

No. However, we recommend that candidates ensure their physical fitness, possess safety equipment such as a hard hat, safety boots, glasses, and hi-vis vest/jacket, and understand written and spoken English well for optimal learning.

What does IPAF - MEWP Operators include?

As part of the IPAF - MEWP Operators Course, Operators can choose for their course to include the following:

1a – Static Vertical – Vertical personnel platforms (Static)

1b – Static Boom – self-propelled booms, trailers and vehicle mounted platforms

3a – Mobile Vertical -Scissor Lifts, vertical personnel platforms (mobile)

3b – Mobile Boom – Cherry Pickers, Self-propelled booms
PAV – Push Around Vertical

The course also includes:

Safe Operational Procures
Accident Prevention
Emergency Descent
Testing and Inspection
Employer and Employee legal responsibilities

What are the learning outcomes for this course?

This course helps ensure candidates are safe and competent in using Mobile Elevated Work Platforms.

How is this course assessed?

This course has a theory and a practical element.

There is the option to take the theory element of the course either via eLearning prior to the training day or in person on the same day as the practical.

Candidates are required to pass the theory test before taking the practical test, where they are assessed on their ability to use the machinery safely.
